The second time a visitor notices that every street in a neighborhood starts with the same letter, they look it up. Here’s the short version: Palm Coast was built as a lettered grid by ITT in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Each section got a letter. Every road inside that section starts with it.
The B Section is Indian Trails. C and F are Palm Harbor. L is Matanzas Woods. P splits into Belle Terre and Pine Grove. S and U are Seminole Woods. There are even double letters — BL for the Woodlands, LL for south Quail Hollow — because the original plan ran out of tidy alphabet before it ran out of land.
It was meant to make a 90-square-mile city easier to sell and navigate. Whether it succeeded is a local argument that will outlive all of us. What it does today is give newcomers a map they can actually hold in their head.
School zones, flood maps, and HOAs do not follow the letters. Use the section to orient, then verify everything else street by street.
